Rogue progress and wee baby knits

rogue hem

The above was taken yesterday morning just before I finished knitting the hem and body together. So far I am absolutely loving the yarn I am using - Jaeger's Shetland, 80% new wool, 20% alpaca, in black, because I like to live dangerously. ;) I also, in my need to not follow directions exactly, made the hem much shorter than the recommended 12 rows.

I am glad I gave up on the original Rogue Yarn (KnitPick's Main Line), it was way too thin for this sweater, but it will eventually get used, probably as a SKB.

I think I will most likely be working on only this for the remainder of the summer (I don't need to rush it since it's not hooded sweater weather right now), or at least until my sister finds out in about 8 weeks whether she will have a girl or a boy so I can then do some baby knitting.

OMG. I never did mention that anywhere. My sister, who thought she's never have a child of her own, is due sometime right around the Winter Solstice. Yay for baby knitting! I have already found a ton of patterns I'd like to make, but want to wait for gender confirmation so I can decide what color(s) to invest in.

Congratulations to your sister! I hope everything goes well for her.
I received my package today and just have to say thank you! thank you! thank you!
I must admit that when I saw your post on the swap site I was really hoping that those socks were coming to me. I had even typed up a comment, then didn't post it for fear that if they weren't my socks, it might hurt my real pal's feelings. (I swear I've got to get rid of some of this southern overdoing it with politeness!)
But Hooary! THey were for me!
It really did come a a good time too. Bruce has been pushing boundaries so much since palyschool ended. Each day is more and more stressful with him. We had just returned home from the post office - mailing off my a package to my swap pal - when I had to send him straight up to his room for a time out. I then went to the door the check mail. Seeing this box there really made my day.
I love everything in it! And thanks for sending the extra yarn - I will make a little pair of socks for Flora.
Your first pair of sock?!?!? THey really are fabulous! Very well made. The self striping turned out perfect. I am very impressed!
Thank you again! You completely spoiled me!
